Brief information about Luzon, Philippines
Luzon is the largest island of the Philippines. This island is the home of the capital city of the country, Manila.
Luzon's land area is 104,688 square kilometers which makes it the World's 17th Largest Island and the
Fourth Most Populated Island in the world. During the Spanish regime in the 16th century, Luzon also
came to be known as the Nueva Castilla (New Castile). One of the major and great attractions of Luzon
island is Baguio City which also known as the Summer Capital of the Philipines because of its very cool weather.
In Luzon, you can find the still preserved cobblestone streets and old houses of the colonial town in
Vigan City. The very famous Banaue Rice Terraces which is a 2000 years old terraces, considered as the
Eight Wonder of the World is one of the major attractions you shoudn't miss when visiting Luzon.
